There have been many exciting changes have occurred since the last Newsletter. Russound has released the new MCA-C5 eight source, eight zone distributed audio system. This is the first Russound controller with features from the Sphere line. The highlight is the new MDK-C5 keypad. This allows homeowners to delve deeper into RNET sources and choose title / artist / genera from any keypad. The MCA-C5 features 40 watt per channel digital amplification and a built-in AM/FM tuner. These are the same amps that are used in the Sphere ACA-E5 system and they sound great. In addition, they can run 4? loads so it is a great solution when you want to run 4 speakers in a single room. HAI added compatibility for the MCA-C5 and ACA-E5 in 3.0a firmware. PC Access offers system control and the touch screen interface provides an Uno-S2 interface just like the CAV/CAM control. In addition, programming is simple with a free version of PC PowerTools. The most popular ordering package is the RSKT1-C5, it features the controller and 6 keypads for $2600. As a University Alumni, mention this e-mail this month and purchase this kit for $2400.

The USB port interfaces to the serial port on a CAA6.6, CAM6.6, CAV6.6, MCA-C5, ACA-E5. Use an iTouch or iPhone (other phone support is coming) to control audio zones, transport functions, power, volume and see meta-data. The Touchpoint is shipping at the end of May and we are taking pre-orders now. Be one of the first to play with this exciting new product: RSTCH1 $325. |
